Prior to becoming a stand-up comedian, Kevin set up a ‘Pop Quiz’ in a trendy boozer in Camden, which rapidly became laden with brit-pop destined celebrities and culminated in him being asked to organise and compere the NME’s first national pop quiz.
He has occasionally ventured into the world of presenting, compering the ‘Loaded Laftas’ in 2008 presenting awards to none other than Jimmy Carr, Adam Buxton, Paul Kaye, and Harry Enfield, to name but a few. In 2014, by way of contrast, he provided the warm-up for a night dedicated to Dennis Skinner which also featured the author and commentator Owen Jones.
In a previous life, he was also a working musician, playing bass and co-writing songs, which took him to New York, Reykjavik and Japan; as well as playing at the prestigious Ronnie Scott’s a couple of times. He has a vast knowledge of music, and could previously be heard presenting the retro ‘Punky Reggae Party’ on Hull Kingston Radio 107.4FM.
